This is a laparoscopic procedure in which the key to weight loss is its restrictive nature. The total reduction of the stomach is approximately 60% to 70% of the normal stomach size. In this procedure, the stomach is folded into itself and is secured with sutures. To maximize weight loss, another in-folding is created in order to reduce the intra-abdominal volume.
